Product Marketing Manager

Role
In this exciting role, you will define and drive product marketing plans and activities that deliver on agreed revenue and release goals. Experienced in working with product management, you will be determining and driving the product messaging, as well as, selecting effective marketing methods to achieve desired results. Your expert knowledge in Sophos product and targeted buyers, sales and channel cycles, market trends and marketing methods will be used to widen and deepen our product penetration globally.
This important position is based in Columbus, Ohio. Occasional travel to other global sites will be required, where it is expected that you will spend time at our sites in Vancouver, Canada and Oxford, United Kingdom.
Main duties
- Ensure the desired prospect-to-sale experience across all sales and marketing vehicles.
- Develop and deliver product sales tools to support the desired prospect experience (e.g. product demonstrations, presentations, proposal templates, and whitepapers).
- With the support of Product Managers and Marketing, drive the definition of marketing campaigns with global and regional marketing teams that maximize market impact.
- Drive creation of customer-facing product marketing content to support launches and campaigns (e.g. data sheets, case studies, online demonstrations).
- Coordinate and drive the delivery of regional marketing plans to support product launches and marketing campaigns with corporate and regional marketing teams.
- Work with respective corporate marketing owners to ensure timely delivery of marketing components and activities.
- Ensure regular sourcing of compelling supporting messages or “proofs” that lend credibility to Sophos’ corporate and product core messaging.
- Establish external relationships with key customers and channel partners to use as an external sounding board for product marketing efforts.
Experience and skills
You will need to demonstrate experience of the following:
- Created and successfully implemented global product marketing plans for a number of IT products
- Experience in giving sales presentations to large and small groups
- Experienced with the creation of core messaging for a set of products and services
- Creative communication (written and verbal) skills
- Delivering projects to budget, on time and with quality
- Knowledge and application of industry standard methodologies, tools and processes
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to demonstrate anaylitical skills
- Multitasking on many simultaneous projects
Desirable
- Previous work within the security, endpoint or networking market
- Enrolled or completed MBA
