Sophos warns UK customers of pirated CD
Sophos warned UK customers to be aware that an illegal pirated version of Sophos Anti-Virus is being actively distributed on CD.
The pirate version, which is an amateurish copy of the CD produced on a monthly basis by Sophos, shows a waterside scene instead of the usual Sophos design and iconography.
A number of pirated CDs have been intercepted by the UK Post Office, but it is unclear at the moment who is behind the piracy.
Sophos reminds customers that they should only use software sourced directly from Sophos, and that its own CDs are professionally mastered under strict security to ensure the software is not compromised.
Users who have received the pirated CD, or who may have further information on the piracy, are invited to contact Sophos's legal department at legal@sophos.com.
