This is the 42nd time that Sophos has won a prestigious VB100 award, confirming its ability to detect 100% of the viruses in the wild, and its position as one of the most powerful anti-malware products available.

January 2008 - The Sophos Email Appliance (ES1000) beat its competitors from Clearswift and IronPort in an independent review of email security appliances for up to 1000 users. eVision found that the Sophos appliance offered the best anti-spam protection and ease-of-use in an environment replicating a real-life installation. The ES1000’s automated maintenance, real-time support and remote monitoring functions also earned high scores.

As well as checking for viruses and other malware, there are new features like application control, which blocks unauthorized games and programs. Sophos outperformed Symantec and McAfee in installation and deployment, usability and management, and effectiveness. February 2003 - Butler Group, Europe's leading IT analyst company, has produced a report on Sophos and its products.
The report, entitled "Technology Evaluation and Comparison Report", examines Sophos and its products. In the full report Butler Group described Sophos as "the current market leader because of the quality of its anti-virus solutions and service. It is also flexible in its ability to tailor solutions to match different enterprises' needs." Moving into the future, Butler Group said that Sophos "likely to remain a leader with its excellent recognition and best-of-breed status in the market place."
