Dear citizen the Department of Justice and the IRS are after you.

If you received a complaint from the Department of Justice and the IRS what would you do?

Department of Justice

Many people when confronted with the below email would look at the attachments.

Dear citizen ,
A complaint has been filled against your company in regards to the business services it provides.The complaint was filled by Mr. James Malcolm on 06/19/2007/ and has been forwarded to us and the IRS . Complaint Case Number: 89126264 Date: 11/12/2007/

A copy of the original complaint and the contact information of Mr. James Malcolm has been attached to this e-mail.Please print and keep his copy for your personal records. Disputes involving consumer products and/or services may be arbitrated. Unless they directly relate to the contract that is the basis of this dispute, the following claims will be considered for arbitration only if all parties agree in writing that the arbitrator may consider them:

Claims based on product liability;
Claims for personal injuries;
Claims that have been resolved by a previous court action, arbitration, or written agreement between the parties.

The decision as to whether your dispute or any part of it can be arbitrated rests solely with the US Department of Justice.
The Department of Justice offers a binding arbitration service for disputes involving marketplace transactions. Arbitration is a convenient, civilized way to settle disputes quickly and fairly, without the costs associated with other legal options.

That however, would be a mistake as the email is purely a way of getting people to run Troj/PDrop-A. Neither the Department of Justice nor the IRS would contact you in this way in fact on the DOJ website you can find the following:

The Department of Justice … and would not send such messages to the public via email.

Both departments of the US Government have websites detailing past abuses of their names in spam. If you do receive emails for them I suggest that you have a look at the DOJ and IRS pages or go straight to the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
