EM Library: protecting against a new virus in an emergency

If there is an emergency, such as a rapidly-spreading email worm, you need to update Sophos Anti-Virus as soon as possible. EM Library will update automatically at its next scheduled time, but it is also possible to initiate updates manually.

What to do

In the EM Library console, on the Library menu, click 'Download Packages'.

EM Library downloads new virus identities (IDEs) and places them in your central installations of Sophos Anti-Virus. When workstations next update from the Central Installation Directory (CID), they will be protected by the new IDEs. Windows clients can be forced to update immediately using Enterprise Console.
