Sophos Anti-Virus SBE: installation will fail if another anti-virus product is present

If another anti-virus product is already installed on a computer, you must uninstall it before installing Sophos Anti-Virus Small Business Edition (SBE). The behaviour of a computer with more than one anti-virus product installed can be unpredictable.

What to do

Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003

Where another anti-virus product is installed on the computer, only the Sophos Remote Management Service will be installed. An error will then be reported in the Sophos Control Center.

Once the other anti-virus software has been removed, the Sophos Remote Management Service can be installed.

Mac OS X

If another anti-virus product is already installed on a computer, it must be uninstalled before Sophos Anti-Virus Small Business Edition (SBE) is installed. The installation process does not check if other anti-virus products are installed.
