Advisory: PureMessage for Windows/Exchange - Microsoft Exchange information store scanning problems
A number of customers have reported problems with information store scanning in PureMessage for Windows/Exchange. There are two main symptoms of this problem:
- The store process (Store.exe) uses excessive CPU resources.
- Workstations running Microsoft Outlook experience problems when contacting the Microsoft Exchange server.
A fully supported release of PureMessage for Windows/Exchange is now available from Sophos which corrects this issue.
Note: This version should only be used by customers who are experiencing the issues described above. Other customers should wait until the next maintenance release of PureMessage for Windows/Exchange which will include these changes.
What to do
- Deliver any required email from the PureMessage Quarantine section.
- Note your PureMessage for Windows/Exchange configuration options.
- Uninstall PureMessage for Windows/Exchange.
- Reboot the computer.
- Upgrade to PureMessage for Windows/Exchange version 2.5.1 or above.
