EM Library: updating issue with Sophos Anti-Virus for Macintosh OS 8.1-9.2 and 10.1-10.1.5

This product is nearing retirement. We strongly recommend that you upgrade in order to ensure your protection stays fully up to date.

When updating Sophos Anti-Virus for Macintosh OS 8.1-9.2 and 10.1-10.1.5 with EM Library, IDE files may accumulate in the Central Installation Directory (CID).

The update mechanism in EM Library should remove all IDE files from the CID when a new version of Sophos Anti-Virus is written to it. This is not currently happening when EM Library updates the Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS 8.1-9.2 and 10.1-10.1.5 package. Huge numbers of IDE files can accumulate in the CID and on computers updating from that CID. This issue is very unlikely to cause any serious problems.

What to do

To remove the surplus IDE files, do as follows:

All computers should then update correctly from the CID.
