Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems: overview

Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems provides on-access scanning of files held on a Network Appliance filer. When a workstation attempts to access a file held on the Network Appliance filer, Sophos Anti-Virus will intercept the file and scan it. If the file is infected, access will be denied.

To run Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems:

• Install and run Sophos Anti-Virus on a Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 computer that is to provide virus scanning (an anti-virus server).
• Then install Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems on the anti-virus server to run the Sophos Anti-Virus service.

Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems can be controlled from a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, which can be on the anti-virus server itself, or on another computer.
