Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems: virus detected, but not logged in statistics

With Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems, when an infected file on the NetApp filer is accessed from an anti-virus server, the virus will be detected and, where appropriate, disinfected. However, statistics for the anti-virus server will not be updated.

In these circumstances, the NetApp filer will not send a request to the anti-virus server to scan the file so as to avoid causing an infinite loop. As no request is sent, the statistics will not be updated. Nonetheless, the file will be scanned and, where possible, disinfected.
