What to do
The Sophos
- Sophos
Anti-Virus cannot recognise all anti-virus products produced by other companies. - If it cannot identify anti-virus software, it does not provide a warning.
If Sophos
- It displays a warning message in the AutoUpdate log file. This is:
"error 80041f02.
Installation could not continue for the presence of another antivirus on this computer". - It creates a text file called 'Sophos
Anti-Virus Competitor List.txt' in the Temporary folder (along with the other installation log files). This will contain the name and version of the anti-virus product that has been detected, and the name of the registry key found. - It displays an Alert in Enterprise Console, but only if you tried to use Enterprise Console to install Sophos
Anti-Virus remotely. - It displays a warning message in the AutoUpdate log file, but not in Enterprise Console if you attempted to deploy Sophos
Anti-Virus using methods other than Enterprise Console.
If necessary, you can run more than one on-demand virus scanner on a computer.
