Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems: on-access scanning with the 'On rename' and 'On write' options

With Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems version 1.0.1, on-access scanning with only the settings 'On rename' and 'On write' will not work with the filer if the file is saved or renamed from a workstation. Only files saved or renamed at the anti-virus server will be scanned. This is because the filer can only send requests for 'On read' scanning.

What to do

If you want to use 'On write' and 'On rename' scanning, ensure that 'On read' scanning is also selected.

  1. Open the 'On-access scan settings for this computer' dialog.
  2. Select the Scanning tab.
  3. In 'On-access scanning behaviour', under 'Check files', ensure that 'On read' is selected.
