EM Library: removing libraries from remote computers

This product is nearing retirement. We strongly recommend that you upgrade in order to ensure your protection stays fully up to date.

You can remove libraries from remote computers by using a program called removelib which is supplied with EM Library. This can be run in command-line or graphical mode.

What to do

  1. Locate the removelib programs. These are removelib.exe and removelib.bat. Removelib.bat allows you to remove libraries using the Windows GUI. By default, these two programs are installed to C:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Manager\console\bin.
  2. To remove a library, you need the name of the remote computer from which you want to remove it, and the name and password of an administrator account. Do one of the following:
    • To run removelib in the Windows GUI, go to the directory where it is located, and double-click 'removelib.bat'. The Remote Library Uninstall Dialog is displayed. Enter the remote computer name and credentials as prompted. Click 'Uninstall'.
    • To run removelib from a command line, at a command prompt, type the full path and the command removelib. Command line parameters are displayed on screen.
