EM Library: switching between databanks

Sometimes you might need to switch between EM Library databanks. This could happen if you need to use a special version of Sophos Anti-Virus, or if you are moving back to your old setup.

What to do

These instructions describe switching databanks in a working setup. All usernames, passwords and proxy details must already be established, and updating must be taking place successfully.

  1. In Enterprise Console, click 'Libraries'.
  2. In the lefthand pane of the EM Library console, click the name of your library.
  3. In the righthand pane, click 'Select Parent'.
  4. In the Website dropdown list, select the databank you are intending to use.
    If it is not on the list, type the URL in the text box, e.g.
    es-central-2.sophos.com/update
  5. Click 'Apply' to check access. If access is denied, check that you typed the URL correctly.
  6. Click 'OK'.
  7. Click 'Download Packages' to update your current packages from the databank. Wait until the update has finished.
  8. Click 'Select Packages' and subscribe to the new packages that you need from this databank.
    • If the new package is replacing a previous package, check that you use the same configuration.
    • Unsubscribe from any packages that you no longer need, to save on bandwidth.
  9. Click 'Download Packages' to update your new packages from the databank. Wait until the update has finished.
  10. Click 'Start Enterprise Console' and check that your workstations are updating correctly.
