Enterprise Console: reprotecting computers installed with Sophos Client Firewall generates errors
If computers previously protected with the Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+ package that included the Sophos Client Firewall are reprotected via Enterprise Console with the Sophos
0000002e The computer can no longer be contacted. It may have been shut down, renamed or disconnected, or a required service may not be running. It may be running Windows XP Home.
This happens because by default NetBIOS traffic is blocked by the firewall.
What to do
From Enterprise Console:
- disable the firewall on the computers you are going to reinstall
- install Sophos
Anti-Virus without the firewall.
The Sophos Client Firewall will remain on the computers, but will no longer be active or updated.
