EM Library: no packages visible to a version 1.2 child library where the parent runs version 1.3
This product is nearing retirement. We strongly recommend that you upgrade in order to ensure your protection stays fully up to date.
If you use EM Library version 1.2 as a child of EM Library version 1.3, then no packages are visible in the console.
This happens when the parent EM Library 1.3 library is configured with a frequent update schedule (every 10 mins).
- The child EM Library 1.2 library is configured to update from the 1.3 library, but it cannot understand the frequent schedule in the 1.3 library's configuration file.
- Because the file is in an unfamiliar format, it aborts reading the file.
- As this file also contains information about the available packages, this information does not get read either.
Despite this display problem, your workstations will continue to be updated with anti-virus software.
What to do
Do either of the following:
- Upgrade the child library to EM Library 1.3.
- Delete the frequent schedule from the parent. The child library can only update from it hourly anyway.
You can reinstate a more frequent schedule after upgrading to EM Library 1.3.
