What to do
1. Checking locally
To view the location from which the computer you are working at obtains updates:
Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003
- Right-click the shield icon in the system tray.
- Select 'Configure Updating'.
- Select the 'Primary server' tab to view the source from which updates are obtained.
- If you entered details in the 'Secondary server' tab, this information will be used if the primary server is unavailable.
- If access to the update location is via a proxy, click 'Proxy details' to view the details.
Note: If the computer is managed by the Sophos Control Center, the 'Primary Server' details will be grayed out.
Mac OS X
- Click the shield icon in the menu bar.
- Select 'Open|Preferences...'
- Select the AutoUpdate tab.
- Select 'Network Settings' from the 'Show drop-down' list.
- Select the Primary Server tab to view the source from which updates are obtained.
- If you entered details in the Secondary Server tab, this information will be used if the primary server is unavailable.
- If access to the update location is via a proxy, select the Primary Proxy tab to view details.
2. Checking centrally
To view the location from which your network obtains updates:
- On the Start menu, select Programs|Sophos|Sophos ControlCenter.
- In the Configuration panel, select 'Configure updating'.
- In the dialog box, click 'Alternative source'.
The text displayed in the upper part of the dialog box indicates the location from which your network obtains updates.
To view the location from which your network obtains updates in Sophos
- On the Start menu, select Programs|Sophos|Sophos ControlCenter|Sophos Control Center.
- In the Action panel, select 'Configure updating'.
- In the dialog box, click 'Alternative source'.
The text displayed in the upper part of the dialog box indicates the location from which your network obtains updates.
