PureMessage for Windows/Exchange: features in version 2.6.1
Sophos PureMessage for Windows/Exchange, version 2.6.1, has been released. It incorporates a number of enhancements.
Enhancements in version 2.6.1
Enhanced message and threat reports
The range and flexibility of reporting has been significantly improved.
- Scope – reports available for SMTP (gateway), Exchange mail store, and NNTP services
- Flexibility – the administrator can select from a predefined list of report periods or define their own report period. Reports can be generated for either a single computer or all servers using PureMessage
- Presentation – reports are available in bar graph, pie chart and table format
- Analysis – report source data can be exported in CSV or HTML format for external analysis or presentation
- Scalability and speed – report data is stored in either an MSDE/SQL Server 2005 Express database or SQL server database.
Direct access to end-user spam quarantine
End users can now access the quarantine website at any time to review their emails that have been classified as spam. This feature uses Active Directory to check user credentials before allowing access to the quarantine website.
Certified for Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition
PureMessage for Windows/Exchange is now certified by Microsoft for use on Windows 2003 Server, Standard and Enterprise Editions.
Additional changes
- Wild card characters '?' and '*' can now be used when specifying phrases to search for within message body text and attachments.
- Provision of recipient alerts for content threats.
- Recipient alerts can to be restricted to internal recipients only.
- Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and MSDE/SQL Server 2005 Express.
Obtaining the new version
The new version will be available for download from the Sophos website. You will need the download credentials (username and password) that you use to access the Sophos website.
