Sophos Client Firewall: blocking MSN Messenger version 7.5
If Sophos Client Firewall is used to block MSN Messenger version 7.5, it will block this program, but no message will be sent to Enterprise Console saying that it has done so.
If MSN Messenger is set to log in automatically at startup, it logs in after the firewall has started, but before the messaging component is loaded. In this case the program is blocked, but no alert is sent to Enterprise Console. MSN Messenger will then remain blocked, and will not send any alerts, until it is closed and then restarted.
What to do
- Right-click the MSN Messenger system tray icon and select 'Exit'.
- Then restart MSN Messenger.
Note: Closing the Messenger window is not sufficient.
