Enterprise Console: when upgrading from version 2 to version 3, items are lost from Quarantine on managed computers
When upgrading Enterprise Console from version 2 to version 3 or above, items in quarantine are no longer listed on managed computers running Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+, version 6.x. The quarantined items will still be listed in the computer logs.
What to do
- Where possible, clear Quarantine Manager on all workstations before upgrading.
- After upgrading, run a scan on all managed computers to check for any items that should be quarantined.
Technical details
A virus, or other item, will no longer be listed in Quarantine Manager in these circumstances:
- where a managed Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista computer running Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+ version 6.x has an item in Quarantine Manager
- where the console computer is upgraded from Enterprise Console version 2, to Enterprise Console version 3 or above.
The item will still be present in the computer's log file, and a scan of the computer will detect it again.
