Sophos Anti-Virus: important changes to the monthly supplementary CD
The content of the Sophos Anti-Virus Supplementary CD has changed.
If you have previously used the supplementary CD to update any of the components in the list below, you may need to upgrade your version of Sophos Anti-Virus now. Follow the links provided to the Sophos webpages for information on how to upgrade.
NOTE: The way in which your software is updated may also have changed. The latest Sophos products update your protection automatically from the web, several times each day, so you can be certain that your anti-virus protection is completely up-to-date. Where older Sophos Anti-Virus products are replaced by newer software, the latter will automatically update in this way. The release of updates on the monthly Supplementary CD is therefore being discontinued for some products, as described below.
- Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, version 4.1x and Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 95/98/Me, version 4.1x
Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows, version 4.1x, was retired on 28 February 2007. You must now upgrade. Refer to knowledgebase article 14844 for an overview of how to upgrade and knowledgebase article 16009 for detailed instructions on how to upgrade. Updates are no longer available from the monthly Supplementary CD. - Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows NT and Windows 95/98/Me, version 4.6.x
This product updates automatically from the web. Updates are therefore no longer available from the monthly Supplementary CD. - Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000/XP/2003, version 6.x.
The March 2007 supplementary CD, automatically upgraded your Sophos Anti-Virus to version 6. This updates automatically from the web. Updates are therefore no longer available from the monthly Supplementary CD. - Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS 8/9
This was retired on 28 February 2007. This operating system is no longer supported. You should upgrade your operating system, and then do a fresh installation of Sophos Anti-Virus.
