Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows NT: error message: 'a file in rmsnt had an invalid signature'
Issue
All the machines in the network are displaying a white cross in a red circle on the Sophos shield. On checking the alc.log file, it can be seen that all downloads have occurred successfully, but when installing a product, for example RMS, the installation fails with the following error message:
A file in rmsnt had an invalid signature
Sophos Product and Version Number
Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows
Operating System
Windows
What to do
The problem is caused by a corrupted file in the CID.
1) Open the EM Library Console and select Central Installations.
2) Right-click on the CID specified in the error message and select "Update CID (Checksum all Files)".
3) Select "Update Now" on a client machine.
4) The client computers will now update and the white-cross on a red-circle will disappear.
