Sophos NAC Advanced: how to select the correct IIS applications directory during installation

This article describes how to select the location of IIS applications during the Sophos NAC application server installation when the server hard drive is partitioned or the server has more than one hard drive.

What to do

During the Sophos NAC application server installation, the software automatically selects the drive with the most free space for the installation of IIS applications (i.e., virtual web directory), and may select a drive where the IIS root directory is not installed. This can occur in instances where the server hard drive is partitioned or the server has more than one hard drive. If you would like to override the drive that is automatically selected by the software, you can change it during the application server installation. If you complete the installation prior to changing the default IIS directory and want to change it, you can uninstall the Sophos NAC application server and then re-install it with the correct directory selected.

To select the IIS applications root directory during the application server installation:

  1. Run the Sophos NAC application server installation by double-clicking the Sophos NAC Application Server.msi, either from the installation CD or branded MSI file.
  2. Click Next to continue.
  3. Verify the system requirements, and then click Next to continue.
  4. Type the installation information in the appropriate fields, and verify the IIS applications directory. To change the installation directory for the IIS applications, click Change and select the appropriate directory. Then, click Next to continue.
  5. Verify the installation parameters, and then click Install to begin the installation.
  6. Click Finish.
