EM Library: fails to download and displays error
Issue
EM Library is not downloading, and one of the following errors is displayed:
Task could not be executedThe task did not terminate correctly
Sophos product and version
EM Library 1.3
Operating system
Windows 2003 SP2
What to do
- Open Windows Task Manager.
- In Processes, ensure that the 'Show processes from all users' tickbox is selected.
- Select each of the following processes in turn, and click on 'End Process'.
- dllloader.exe
- EMLibUpdateAgentNT.exe
- Exit Windows Task Manager.
- In EM Library, click 'Download Packages'.
If this does not fix the issue, work through the following procedure:
- Open Windows Task Manager and the end process called 'dllloader.exe'.
- Browse to C:\Program Files\Sophos Enterprise Manager\
- Right click on 'Library' and select properties.
- On the Sharing tab, unshare the folder and click 'Apply'.
- Reshare the folder with the following details:
- Share name = SophosEM
- User limit = Maximum allowed
- Permissions = Everyone with Full Control
- Click Apply|OK.
- Next go to Start|Run and type in
services.msc - Press return.
- In the Services window, scroll down to 'Sophos Enterprise Manager Scheduler Service'.
- Right click on the service and select 'Restart'.
- Open the EM Library Console
- Click on 'Download Packages'
This should now download updates from Sophos.
