Advisory: PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange shows mail build up and error messages
You see one or more of the following issues:
- A build up of mail in the Exchange 'Messages pending submission' queue
- PureMessage Spam Rules or Sophos Anti-Virus updates stall
- An error in the PureMessage SMTPScan.log and the Event Viewer log, similar to
Failed to create the spam engine while processing message '<000401c82b16$f25041c0$495d213a@domain name>' (error: '0x80004005') - An error in the PureMessage SMTPScan.log and the Event Viewer log, similar to

What to do
These issues were fixed in PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange version 3.0.2. You should upgrade to the latest version of PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange.
If you are unable to upgrade, you should apply the PureMessage hotfix:
The hotfix available for this issue is only compatible with PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange, version 3.0.1. In order to use this hotfix, you must first upgrade your server to version 3.0.1 which is available from http://www.sophos.com/support/updates/. You can then go to the Sophos website, download the hotfix and install it.
