Sophos NAC Advanced: An error occurs if an application with the same name is added during a NAC Advanced upgrade.
This article describes what to do if an error occurs when an application with the same name is added during a NAC Advanced upgrade.
What to do
NAC Advanced supports additional applications in NAC Advanced 3.0.4. If the upgrade adds a new application to the NAC Manager and an application with the same name already exists, the upgrade produces an error and does not add the new application to the NAC Manager. The following error displays in the application server Event Log stating that the application name is not unique: "The name <application name> is not unique for all <application type> types." In this case, the original application remains in the NAC Manager and the new application included in the upgrade is not installed.
1. In the NAC Manager, remove or rename the application to rectify the unique naming issue.
2. Re-install the application server upgrade.
