Sophos Anti-Virus for UNIX: third party application fails to connect to Sophos Anti-Virus
Issue
After installing or upgrading to Sophos Anti-Virus for UNIX, version 7.0.0, your third party application fails to connect to Sophos Anti-Virus.
Technical information
This occurs because the configuration file /etc/sav.conf which many third party applications look at, will be pointing to the now wrong SAV virus data directory.
Sophos product and version
Sophos Anti-Virus for UNIX, version 7.0.0
What to do
Edit /etc/sav.conf so that the line
SAV virus data directory = /usr/local/sav
points to the correct location. By default this will be:
SAV virus data directory = /opt/sophos-av/lib/sav
NOTE: If you have installed to a non-default directory, you will need to enter:
SAV virus data directory = <path to install>/lib/sav
