For Second Consecutive Year, Sophos Wins as Top Endpoint Security Solution

BURLINGTON, Mass. — novembre 12, 2018 —

Sophos (LSE: SOPH), a global leader in network and endpoint security, announced today that CRN,® a brand of The Channel Company, has recognized Sophos with a 2018 CRN Tech Innovator Award. These annual awards honor standout hardware, software, and services that are moving the IT industry forward. In compiling the 2018 Tech Innovator Award list, CRN editors evaluated 300 products across 34 technology categories using several criteria, including technological advancements, uniqueness of features and potential to help solution providers solve end users' IT challenges. Sophos Intercept X with deep learning took top honors in the Endpoint Security category.

Businesses are struggling with security products that fail to keep up with modern cyberattacks. This has created a huge opportunity for Sophos partners to protect their customers with innovative security solutions that defend against the widest range of threats. Unlike other endpoint solutions, Sophos Intercept X with deep learning stops never-before-seen malware, unknown exploit variants, stealth attacks and ransomware attacks. Intercept X learns the observable threat landscape, processes hundreds of millions of samples, and makes more accurate predictions at a faster rate than traditional machine learning solutions. When used together with other Sophos protection such as Sophos XG Firewall or Intercept X for Server Intercept X shares threat intelligence, enabling a unique Synchronized Security approach with automated responses to threats, without requiring manual intervention. Through Sophos Central, administrators can remotely install Intercept X to run alongside existing endpoint security software from any vendor, immediately boosting endpoint protection.

In addition to CRN, SE Labs and other independent third party testers and analysts consistently rank Sophos Intercept X as the industry’s top endpoint protection product. To demonstrate this high-end performance first-hand, Sophos provides demo-testing of Intercept X against real-world endpoint attacks, including never-before-seen malware, ransomware and exploits.

“As a channel-first global security leader, we are proud that CRN has recognized Sophos’ dedication to delivering the most effective and innovative endpoint protection product available today,” said Kendra Krause, vice president of worldwide channels at Sophos. “Intercept X with deep learning delivers organizations with a predictive security solution that protects and prevents endpoints from being attacked in the first place. As proven by SE Labs and MRG Effitas testing, Intercept X leverages neural networking models to achieve an industry-best detection rate, fewer false positives and offer the most comprehensive exploit protection and ransomware defenses. We truly believe it is a must-have product for all partners selling security today and look forward to launching the integration of intelligent endpoint detection and response (EDR) capabilities.”

Sophos’ recognition as a CRN Tech Innovator follows the company’s recent placement in CRN's 2018 Annual Report Card . CRN named Sophos as an “Overall Winner” in Network Security and “Overall Winner” in Endpoint Security, ranking highest for product innovation, support, partnership, and managed and cloud services.

“Each year, the CRN Tech Innovator Awards recognize technology vendor offerings that are reshaping the IT channel landscape by increasing worker productivity, reducing cost, and minimizing complexity for solution providers, IT departments, and end users,” said Bob Skelley, CEO of The Channel Company. “The winners in this year’s awards bring breakthrough ideas to the table for solution providers and their customers, in areas ranging from cloud to security to business intelligence to IoT. We congratulate all the winners and look forward to their future endeavors.”
